Holidays provide an opportunity to look around

Holidays provide a great opportunity to look around the web and explore what’s out there that can be added to our personal toolbox. The LibriVox project has reappeared on my radar this week so I’m recording it here before it disappears again. Describing its mission as the “acoustical liberation of books in the public domain.” LibriVox is a digital library of free public domain audio books that are read and recorded by volunteers and to date consists of approx 150 recordings. It’s a project that anyone can join and become part of a community of readers.

The project is hosted on The Creative Commons site which itself is an important knowledge sharing resource. Take time to explore this site to discover the free tools that creators have made available for us all to share. Creative Commons is an interesting site in the range of resources it contains. It’s also a great thought provoking site.

This post is the beginning of my endeavour for 2007 to make this blog worthwhile for both myself and others.
